In 1970, my father, Robert D. Moran, Esq., was appointed by President Richard M. Nixon as the first Chairman of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHA). He was often referred to as the "Grandfather of OSHA" by President Nixon; he served in this position for over seven years. My father was responsible for heading a government task force that planned the implementation of the OSHA Act and the eventual creation of OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

In 1977 after his term, my father went into private law practice in Washington D.C. creating Moran Associates--a firm specializing in assisting employers nationwide with the increasing complexity of OSHA regulations. I, Mark Moran, joined my father and his team in 1986.

In 1993, Moran Associates moved its headquarters to Jacksonville, Florida. This is where the company functions today.

In July 2000, Moran Associates merged its operations with SafetyCertified.com. This strategic partnership combines the expertise of Moran Associates with the technology of SafetyCertified.com. This merger allows the combined companies to bring its services, resources, and knowledge to the world of the Internet. The company is well positioned for the future, making all of our products easy to access, utilize, and affordable to implement.

I know my father would be very excited and proud of this alliance. We will continue to build this company with his vision in mind: "Give people the resources they need to be successful. Make a difference. Have a purpose, and do it better." Thanks, Dad.
